We believe that true community happens when we do life together—beyond Sunday mornings. This is a place where we want you to feel seen, known, and connected. We gather in homes, share meals, and walk alongside each other as we grow in our faith and relationships. We’re excited to welcome you into this intentional, caring community where you can truly belong.
Pastor of Leadership and Teaching

At City Pointe Church, we are a vibrant community of disciples dedicated to understanding who Jesus is, living according to His teachings, and acting in alignment with His example. Our mission is to show God's will in Plant City, mirroring the reality of heaven. Together, we strive to grow in our relationship with Jesus, embody His principles, and share His love within our lives and the broader community. We invite you to join us as we grow our faith, walk with purpose, and pursue the fullness of God's vision for our city and beyond.
We are a community of disciples who live life together, sharing meals in each others homes, serving those in need, and growing more like Christ through dedicated studies who mission is to see God's will for Plant City just as it is in heaven.

We mean we are a church that feels like today… but believes and practices like the first Christians did.
Modern Church
We meet in a movie theater because church isn’t about a fancy building—it’s about people. Our gatherings are simple (no lightshow, smoke, or big productions), but engage with modern worship and everything is designed to help people connect with God and each other. We call our services “Gatherings” because that’s what the early church did—they gathered, not performed.
Ancient Practices
At the same time, we are committed to the historic faith and practices of the Church that Jesus started 2,000 years ago. That means:
• We follow the ancient Liturgical Calendar (Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, Ordinary Time) so our year is shaped by the life of Jesus, not the latest trends.
• We celebrate Communion (the Table) every single Sunday — believing Jesus' commandment of "every time you gather, do this in remembrance of me."
• Our gatherings follow the ancient pattern of the early church: Gather → Word → Table → Send.
• We call our sermons, teachings. “Teaching” communicates depth—verse-by-verse study, real transformation, and lifelong discipleship. This lines up exactly with our mission “Know who Jesus is, live as Jesus says, and do as Jesus does.”
• We walk together through the Bible, even the hard parts.
• We live as a “More Than Sundays” church through our Community Tables (small groups) and by actively loving our city all week long participating in a meal together.
In short:
We use modern language, modern spaces, and modern relevance… while holding tightly to the ancient calendar, the ancient sacraments, and the ancient mission of the Church.
We’re not tied to any denomination. We’re simply Christians trying to be faithful to Jesus in the 21st century the same way the first believers were in the first century.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
• We are completely independent — We have no denominational oversight and no required affiliation with any larger group.
• We’re not trying to be “non-denominational” in a generic way. Instead, we’re intentionally recovering the depth of historic Christianity while living it out in a modern, welcoming, no-frills way — right here in a movie theater in Plant City.
Yes — completely.
Every single Sunday, right before the teaching, we take a few minutes to give you a full, to-the-penny breakdown of exactly where every tithe, offering, and gift from the previous week went. You’ll see the exact dollar amounts and the specific categories (missions, facility rental, staff, etc.).
We also post our complete Annual Report every year See below. It includes:
• A full year-in-review of finances
• Ministry impact highlights
• Detailed expense summaries
We do this because we believe financial openness is part of what it means to be the Church. Jesus was never secretive with His followers, and neither are we. We want you to know exactly how your generosity is stewarded.
No surprises. Just real people being faithful with what God has entrusted to us.
One of the great challenges in articulating a biblical vision of sexuality today is the hidden pain and stories often carried by those asking the questions. In recent decades, the church has too often mishandled this topic from multiple angles. Our witness has focused more on what Scripture opposes than on the beautiful, life-giving vision of sexual expression it celebrates. Jesus emphasized the latter; the church has too often spotlighted the former. While the historic Christian understanding of sexuality has always stood in contrast to surrounding culture, the way that belief has been lived out in recent years has frequently left people feeling excluded—especially those whose sexual practice or orientation does not align with the church’s teaching. The heartbreaking result is that many have experienced alienation from the body of Christ precisely because of their sexuality.
Because of this complex history, we want to be clear and concise about both what we believe and—equally important—how we choose to live out that belief.
Belief
We hold to the historic Christian understanding of marriage and sexual expression: marriage is a lifelong, one-flesh covenant union between one man and one woman from different families, and all sexual activity outside of that covenant is sin.
How We Live Out This Belief
The question that matters most to many people looking for a spiritual home is this: Will I (or someone I love) be truly welcomed here? And will that welcome hold up when our lives don’t fully align?
Regardless of sexual practice or orientation, our church welcomes every person to worship with us. Jesus is the head of the church, and He was unwavering in His teaching
"I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly."
John 10:10b
As the Body of Christ, we are called to reflect His heart in both what we believe and how we express it. When it comes to sexuality, three convictions shape the way we live this out:
Our primary calling is to display covenant love and sexuality as a living invitation.
The church exists not to condemn the culture around us, but to form a vibrant counterculture where the fullness of life in Christ is on display. In many areas—including sexuality—the church has unfortunately mirrored culture more than offered an alternative. Our focus, therefore, is not on changing outsiders or critiquing the world, but on cultivating such faithful, sacrificial, joyful singleness and marriage within our own community that it becomes a powerful witness to everyone watching.
We lead with love and compassion for every person.
The doors and the arms of our church family are wide open. No one will ever be turned away from worshiping with us on Sunday (or any other day) because of a difference in belief or practice.
We distinguish between agreement and acceptance.
One of the most striking things about Jesus is that the people whose lives least lined up with His teaching felt the most at home with Him. He taught that even a lustful look is adultery—yet, He was surrounded by prostitutes whose livelihood depended on lust. He taught radical generosity—yet welcomed a greedy tax collector into His closest circle of twelve. In today’s cultural conversation, “agreement” and “acceptance” are often treated as the same thing: “If you don’t agree with my choices, you don’t accept me.” Jesus showed us the opposite: the people who felt most accepted by Him were often those whose lives were most clearly out of alignment with His teaching.
Therefore, we are committed to being a community that follows Jesus in both agreement and acceptance. We stand unashamedly with every word of His teaching—including His vision for sexuality. At the same time, we are equally committed to becoming the kind of family where those whose lives do not yet align with His teaching (including in the area of sexuality) feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and accepted in our fellowship.
Our desire is simple: to be a church that looks like Jesus—holding fast to truth while opening wide the doors of grace.

Aenean tellus urna, vehicula quis quam vel, finibus sollicitudin quam maecenas mollis risus eu purus faucibus efficitur.
Our vision is to see "Plant City" look more and more like heaven.
